THE PROBLEMS OF SOIL ELECTROCHEMISTRY IN ENVIRONMENTAL CHEMISTRY

摘要: 土壤电化学与环境化学 长期以来,土壤化学研究中的传统的着眼点是土壤的化学性质与植物生长的关系。Abstract: The present paper deals with the relationship between soil electrochemistry and environmental chemistry. The task of soil electrochemistry is to study the interaction and chemical behaviors of charged particles (colloid, ion, protron and electron),which include the nature of surface charge of soil colloids, interactions between ions and colloids in soil, acidity of soil, redox process in soil and development of new electrochemical methods suitable for characteristics of soils.Pollutants referred to in the field of environmental chemistry include mainly heavy metal ions, organic pollutants and acid depositions (acid rain), all of which are charged particles. Their forms, migration and retention in soil, and their relation with organisms are all influenced by soil colloids and related to the transfer of protron and electron in soil. It is just the important content of soil electrochemistry to study the interaction of these charged pollutants and the charged particles in soil.Works concerning the acidity and acidification of the soils in China and the electrochemical determination methods for soils and water in situ having and being conducted by the author and his colleagues are taken as examples to elaborate that soil electrochemistry could play an importan role in environmental chemistry.
